Symposium 2008

A day before the start of the International Trade Fair Refrigeration-Air Conditioning-Heat Pumps (“Chillventa”), the already well established symposium was held on the Nuremberg fair grounds. With its general theme “Energy Efficiency – Environment Protection”, this event, which had for the first time been jointly organised by ASERCOM and EPEE, provided a prelude to the Chillventa which will have the same focus.
The first part of the symposium was dedicated to political issues and had key-note-speakers talking about recently introduced EU directives, as well as regulations currently in the process of discussion. In this context, their objectives, extent, status and still open points were reported.
In detail, the Energy using Products, the Energy Performance in Buildings and the Renewable Energy Sources Directive stood in the focus of consideration. Additional attention was paid to the implementation of the F-Gas Regulation.
The second half centred on applications in various market segments resulting from the new rules and regulations. Against this background, the refrigerants for various applications were presented, followed by CO2 and NH3 case studies. Discussions of supermarket and air conditioning applications formed further contributions.

The next ASERCOM Symposium will be held on the day before the “Chillventa 2010”, the International Trade Fair for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heat Pumps, opens its doors.
